You ask the questions...

Fancy asking one of your favourite authors a question? Here's how...

As you probably know by now, The Book Show is the UK’s only television programme dedicated entirely to books, and it's back on Sky Arts.

Featuring top international authors and books on every subject, from classics to comics and pretty much everything in-between, this series, we're giving you the viewers the opportunity to ask the authors questions directly, as part of the show. Just record your question on your mobile phone, video camera or computer webcam…and upload it here to SkyCast. We'll then pick the best ones to put to the authors.

But before you send in your video question, read our five top tips:

Use the general format of: “Hi I’m Jane Doe from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire and my question is for Patricia Cornwell. Patricia, do you get to approve the artwork for the covers of your novels and what’s your favourite one?”

Speak up: be clear and concise with your question and ask it slowly so your voice comes across well. Remember, this clip may be on TV!

Make sure you're well lit – plenty of light shining onto your face and no light coming from behind you when you record your question not only means we can see you properly, but it works miracles on wrinkles too!

Remember to add the tag 'bookshow' to your clip when you upload it so that we'll be able to find it!

Address your question to one of the confirmed authors only (see below).

We're looking forward to watching your questions being answered by our guest authors on The Book Show. Upload your clips to SkyCast here.

To encourage you to get recording,
here's a demo featuring Tracy from the Sky Arts team - recorded on a mobile phone and put onto Sky Cast (the whole process from "Tracy, we need you to think of a question..." to getting it loaded onto Sky Cast took only 5 mins - thanks Tracy!)
