The Dangerous Book for Boys author Conn Iggulden whisks The Book Show away to a fantastic new world with his new explosive tales

Born in London, Conn Iggulden read English at London University and worked as a teacher for seven years before becoming a full-time writer. His highly acclaimed debut novel, The Gates of Rome, was an instant bestseller, remaining in the Sunday Times top ten for over two months. It was the first novel in the Emperor series, in which he brilliantly interweaves history and adventure to recreate the astonishing story of Julius Caesar, an epic tale of ambition and rivalry, bravery and betrayal. The second novel in the series, The Death of Kings, spent ten weeks in the charts and reached the number 1 position.

Conn also made history in 2007 by taking the number one spot in the bestseller lists for both non-fiction and fiction in the same week with The Dangerous Book For Boys and Wolf of the Plains. He has now brought his Midas touch to create an explosive and magical new world for children. Married with two children, Conn lives in Hertfordshire.

Tollins: Explosive Tales for Children
It's Peter Pan with attitude as Conn Iggulden, creator of the phenomenal bestseller The Dangerous Book for Boys, introduces an explosive and magical new fictional world. Tollins are not fairies. Though they both have wings, fairies are delicate creatures and much smaller. Tollins are also a lot less fragile than fairies. In fact, the word 'fragile' can't really be used about them at all. They are about as fragile as a housebrick!

In these three tales, Conn Iggulden introduces the explosive, magical and adventurous world of the Tollins, all beautifully illustrated in full colour by Lizzy Duncan. Complete with thrilling stories of danger and derring-do, glorious drawings, maps and diagrams, this is more than a fantastic fiction debut for children - it's also the definitive guide to these remarkable little flying creatures. Just don't ever call them fairies!
