...here's another couple of intelligent chick-lit reads...

Thirtynothing by Lisa Jewell

Thirtynothing looks at a reunion of a different kind when Dig Ryan has a chance meeting with his first love on the day of his 30th birthday. Despite the 12 year hiatus, his ex-girlfriend Delilah agrees to a date and love begins to blossom. Cue a fit of jealousy from Dig’s best friend, Nadine, who uses the opportunity to get in touch with her own ex-love. Second Chance is a story about what happens when you delve into the past; friendship and love and appreciating what’s in the here and now.

The Tenko Club by Elizabeth Noble

The theme of how friendship develops over time is also present in ‘The Friendship Test’ which looks at the strength and depth of female relationships amongst four women. The friends of this tale meet in the ‘80s and support each other through the trials and tribulations of being young. Twenty years later and their bond is still strong until one of the group, Freddie, has to cope with her husband leaving her and the news that her father has died all on one terrible night, the repercussions of which tests the very foundations of the girls’ friendship.
