If Dawkins' God Delusion was of interest...

...then here's another couple of religion-related texts...

God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything by Christopher Hitchens

If you want to further reinforce Dawkins’ view of religion, you might want to try the provocatively-titled God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything by Christopher Hitchens. Whereas Dawkins is a scientist, Hitchens takes more of a historical perspective as he sets about dismantling pro-religious arguments with characteristic eloquence and a good dose of incredulity that religion could have lasted this long. Having returned from the front lines of journalism and seen first-hand the damage wrought to mankind by the organisation of belief and the denial of rational thought, Hitchens argues that religion is a consequence of our evolutionary childhood. He insists that people should be free to believe what they want – they just shouldn’t try to force their beliefs on others.

The Dawkins Letters, Challenging Atheist Myths by David Robertson

And if you want to balance the widely exposed views of Dawkins and Hitchens, The Dawkins Letters, Challenging Atheist Myths by David Robertson consists of a series of ten letters to Richard Dawkins countering the arguments in The God Delusion chapter by chapter and exposing what Robertson sees as a lack of evidence to support many of Dawkins’s assertions. The author also takes on the wider myths, as he calls them, employed in Atheist rhetoric.
