Anthony Horowitz

Anthony Horowitz has written rather a lot: he has several series of books to his name; has written episodes of several popular TV crime series including Poirot, Murder in Mind and Midsomer Murders...

He also penned the television series Foyle's War, as well as the libretto of a Broadway musical based on the Dr. Seuss book, The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. Were that not enough, he has a film in the offing, and is reaping the rewards of a previous, recent film adaptation of the highly successful Alex Rider books.

If you're over the age of 16, it's possible you may not have heard of Alex Rider. He's a schoolboy spy with a series of books about his exploits under his belt…when his guardian dies in suspicious circumstances, fourteen-year-old Alex Rider finds his world turned upside down. Within days he's gone from schoolboy to superspy. Forcibly recruited into MI6, Alex has to take part in gruelling SAS training exercises. Then, armed with his own special set of secret gadgets, he's off on his first mission, aware however that his bosses view him as expendable…Swashbuckling stuff that make Horowitz among the most widely-read of young people's authors today.

Ark Angel is priced £6.99, and is available from all good bookshops now.
